The signing of Serbia striker Luka Jovic marks the beginning of a "new project" for Real Madrid as they look to return to winning ways next season, club president Florentino Perez said on Wednesday.
"I'm the happiest guy in the world to sign for such a big club", the 21-year-old said. "I'm Eden Hazard and everything I've done is in the past [does not count]".
"It's a pleasure to sign for this club and I'll give my all". I'm not just saying it today because I've signed here, it's been that way since I was a kid.
"The price does not bring more pressure, I've not really thought about that".
"I'm not a "Galactico", not yet, [though] I hope to be one day", the Belgian stated.
"I'm very excited and sure I made the right decision".
With Ferland Mendy joining the club on Wednesday, the France global has been touted as a long-term replacement at left-back for the Brazilian but his poor from last season may see the 22-year-old instated in Zidane's starting XI immediately.
While it's hard to imagine Madrid could sign Kylian Mbappe without breaching Financial Fair Play, there's no doubt the Paris Saint-Germain striker is on their radar.
"Everyone knows Zidane was my idol growing up", he said. "I jokingly asked him if he could leave me No.10, he said no, I have to find another number", Hazard said on Thursday, as per Goal.
This comes off the back of a Wayne Rooney interview with the BBC when he advised the club to focus on lower profile players and build a new team around them rather than looking for short-term solutions.
Exiting the Blues, with whom he has played for since 2012, for a reported initial fee of £88.5m (€100m/$112m) , the 28-year-old is believed to be the most expensive transfer ever conducted by the club, exceeding that of Gareth Bale . "This is the flawless time to join Real Madrid".
