Square Enix finally unveiled its long awaited Avengers adaptation at the company's Monday night E3 2019 press conference. The 1st Class Edition is a whopping $329.99 and is exclusive to the Square Enix Store, but appears to be the ultimate edition of the long-awaited remake for Final Fantasy fans.
Still, it's hard to argue with the scope of Final Fantasy 8, telling the story of a sorceress who plans to take control over the universe by compressing all of time to a single instance.
Square Enix launched their E3 presentation with the Final Fantasy VII remake. We also got our first in-depth look at combat gameplay. One difference is that as you attack you'll build up your 'ATB meter.' When that's full, you can trigger a tactical mode that slows time so you can initiate special attacks or use potions.
The Scorpion Sentinel also has a weak point towards its back, indicating the ability to target specific locations on at least boss enemies. "It's one of my favorite Final Fantasy's, and the PC version looked very bad and just didn't work great". Now, the wait is over, as Final Fantasy VIII Remastered will be coming to Steam, PS4, Switch and Xbox One. Like Final Fantasy 15, Remake will feature action combat.
The devs will reveal more later this year and we'll update this post with latest trailer for Outriders once it goes live. Square Enix promised to reveal more information about the highly anticipated Crystal Dynamics' The Avengers Project - now known simply as Marvel's Avengers.
