Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled launches soon and recently, a new video has been uploaded detailing the game's progression system and adventure mode. As with the original 1999 game, Nitro-Fueled's Adventure Mode still has players fighting against the alien Nitros Oxide. However, this time, beating the bosses doesn't just unlock that boss character for them to use.
There will be two options available to you, a Classic mode which is exactly as you will remember and a Nitro Fueled mode, where there's some tweaks to customisation and characters.
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled launches on PS4, PC and Xbox One June 21. Players will be getting new kart parts, character skins, or kart customization items with every victory.
However, the developers have gone further: CTR Nitro-Fueled will make it possible to earn rewards every time a race is won. You still pick from Crash, Coco, Cortex and all the other characters to start, and you still earn new characters like Ripper Roo and Pinstripe Pontoroo, but you'll now be able to switch and choose character, kart and customisations between races, which you couldn't do before. This includes karts and customization items, letting players optimize their ride for each stage. However, they'll still earn items, characters, and karts as they would in the regular Nitro-Fueled setting. For those players looking to mix things up along the way, the Nitro-Fueled setting is for you. Also, in addition to new intros and victory cinematics for boss battles, hub worlds are promised to be even more detailed than in previous entries.
The trailer showcases the "Adventure Mode" which is the game's single player campaign which has been given a fresh and rather extensive coat of paint.
