So it turns out that 48 MP camera phone that Redmi India has been teasing for days now, is the Redmi Note 7S. Instead of the 12 MP + 2 MP sensors, the Redmi Note 7S will come with 48 MP primary sensor for the dual camera module. As of now, the company hasn't revealed any more details about its upcoming smartphone. An announcement about this new device was also made on the official Mi forum, and the post read, "We know that you love Redmi Note series, and it shows in numbers, Redmi Note 7 series has already sold 2Mn+ units since its launch in March". Xiaomi also officially confirmed to launch flagship Redmi K20 smartphone in the Indian market. However, since it will be part of the Redmi Note 7 series, we can safely assume that it will have a similar design as the Redmi Note 7.
While nothing much has been revealed yet, we expect the smartphone to have the same specifications as the Redmi Note 7, except for the rear camera setup. The new phone will join the Redmi Note 7 Pro that was launched in the country back in February with a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 camera sensor at the back. "Mark your calendars!" This message was accompanied by a picture of the Earth taken from the Redmi Note 7S. If the phone turns out to be the same, it'll feature a 6.3-inch Full-HD+ display with a dot notch and a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The Note 7S could be powered by a Snapdragon 660 processor with Adreno 512 GPU, up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. It has a 48MP primary camera with a 5MP depth sensor and a front-facing 13MP selfie camera. The Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro is backed by a 4,000mAh battery and support 18W fast charging. Now, to further increase the curiosity of fans and enthusiasts, the same manager shared on his Weibo page, the most popular Chinese social platform, a screenshot showing the score obtained by Redmi K20 on AnTuTu Benchmark.
