Vasiliy Lomachenko, the fastest fighter in history to become a three division world champion, disposed of Anthony Crolla in a hurry, knocking out the Englishman in the fourth round at Staples Center.
When the action began, it was Lomachenko who took the center of the ring and began to impose his will.
The bout could have been finished a round earlier than it was after Lomachenko's vicious onslaught prompted referee Jack Reiss to step in.
The former world champion from Manchester survived a standing eight-count in the third but the fight was over a round later.
In Round 4, Lomachenko continued his high pressure and was able to land a huge right hand that immediately sent Crolla to the mat.
"I want to fight Mikey Garcia, but we'll see".
Vasyl Lomachenko admits he could be willing to make his United Kingdom debut against Luke Campbell following his knockout win over Anthony Crolla. "I wish big health for Anthony Crolla and all the best".
A two-time Olympic gold medalist from Ukraine, the 31-year-old Lomachenko was expecting to face IBF champion Richard Commey until a broken right hand for Commey brought on a change of plans.
The knockout win allowed Lomachenko to retain his WBO and WBA lightweight titles.
"I thought it will be very hard for me, because his style is always in defense", said Lomachenko, still smiling despite a cut near his left eye from a fourth-round head butt.
Crolla couldn't escape Lomachenko's combinations on the ropes late in the third round, but made it to the bell at Reiss' discretion. "I don't know", Lomachenko said.
And he is targeting "historic" fights, with WBC lightweight title holder Garcia in his sights. "I stay at 135 as long as possible, and I want to unify all (the) titles".
