During the Star Wars Celebration event in Chicago on April 12, several new tidbits about the movie were revealed.
Abrams is not above wicked misdirection, but the title reveal of The Rise of Skywalker combined with the footage stokes strong speculation that Rey will be revealed to be of Luke and Leia's bloodline.
Stephen Colbert, who hosted the big opening panel for Star Wars Celebration 2019, asked Abrams the question we were all thinking. The teaser is built around a Luke Skywalker voiceover, suggesting Mark Hamill's role following Luke's death is likely more significant than a cameo. "What I'll say about this movie is, you can tell by that picture, that this is an adventure the group goes on together".
