The National Weather Service in North Platte extended the Flood Warning until Saturday morning for the Elkhorn River near Ewing affecting Holt County. Flood stage is at 27 feet.
Flood warnings are in effect for the Tittabawassee River in Midland from 3:12 p.m. Friday, March 15, through 2:40 a.m. Monday, March 18, and for the Saginaw River in Saginaw from 8 a.m. Saturday, March 16, through 2 p.m. Monday. The highways were being reopened Friday, but the flooding situation wasn't improving as rapidly as the travel conditions. Those along rivers should watch levels closely over the next couple of days.
"Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses".
However, flooding will persist throughout the MS and Missouri river. Darlington is in the midst of its third flood in a year, which is expected to be the worst since 1993 in that location.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland and other low-lying spots. The closure was reminiscent of historic flooding along the river in 2011 that saw segments of the interstate in western Iowa washed away.
At least four deaths were linked to the weather system. The weather service recorded a 60 miles per hour wind gust at Indianapolis International Airport.
The Coast Guard and Corps also requested all river vessel operators create as little wake as possible between St. Joseph downstream to Kansas City to minimize levee damage. DO NOT take U.S. 275 North. Flooding in Hamburg, Iowa will block your progress.
