After months of waiting and plenty of analysis, Marvel Studios released a brand new trailer for Avengers: Endgame Thursday morning-and it highlights just how dire things are for the surviving Avengers. Playing on an ample amount of hope and urgency, the new Avengers: Endgame trailer puts fans on the edge of their seat.
And thus we're in the Endgame now, a movie that, for the first time ever, finds the Avengers actually having something to, well, avenge.
The remaining heroes in the Marvel Universe will stop at nothing to defeat Thanos. Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) and Nebula (Karen Gillan), from the "Guardians of the Galaxy" films, also make an appearance. There is a whole lot of new footage in this trailer and Marvel Cinematic Universe fans probably won't be able to keep calm after taking a look at it. There is precious little action on display, because presumably, most of it takes place in the latter half of the film - and Marvel has suggested that the marketing material will be restricted to the opening 30 minutes.
In the quick coda, a steely Carol (Brie Larson) approaches Thor (Chris Hemsworth) who - perhaps in test to see if she'll flinch - summons his iconic hammer. Paul Rudd's Scott Lang looks a bit smug, and we have Danai Gurira returning as Okoye, the only main Black Panther lead coming back.
Let us know what you think this red motif represents in the comments!
At another point in the trailer, Hawkeye can be seen in a field with what appears to be his three children - including his daughter, whom he is training to shoot a bow and arrow.
Avengers: Endgame hits the big screen on April 26th.
