Falguni "Falu" Shah is nominated in Best Children's Album category for her album Falu's Bazaar, Snatam Kaur Khalsa is nominated in New Age Album category for his album Beloved and Prashant Mistry (Engine-Earz Experiment) is nominated in Best Immersive Audio Album category for his album Symbol.
In the Best New Artist category, six of the eight nominees are women.
R&B singer Alicia Keys hosts a female-flavored Grammy Awards show on Sunday featuring performances by Cardi B, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Diana Ross and Dolly Parton, but which risks being overshadowed by the absence of some of music's most influential stars.
Janelle Monae remembers being frustrated at last year's Grammy Awards, where male acts dominated in nominations and the only woman competing for the night's top award, Lorde, didn't get a chance to perform on stage.

Keys told CBS news this year's greater representation from women was "far overdue". "I'm just so proud to be involved and to go into the studio with such an incredible talent, including the talent that's out there tonight and thank you guys for giving us this platform".
"The performance is based off of my grandma's childhood, and I have my family in the performance", she said on the red carpet.
Monae's "Dirty Computer" is one of five albums by women nominated for the top prize at Sunday's show. "This is a moment for women to love on each other and let each other know", she added.
The main performers for this year includes Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Dua Lipa, St. Vincent, Chloe x Halle and Travis Scott.
"This is just the beginning of moving to a more inclusive future", Monae said. A representative for the Grammys didn't return an email seeking clarification about the tribute.
