Paris - Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel admitted he might need to resort to "Plan D" in the approaching Champions League showdown with Manchester United after Edinson Cavani sparked a new injury scare on Saturday. After he left the pitch, it was more hard for us to control the game. "But we have to wait for the doctor's opinion to see if it's possible or not".
"Yes, there has been a lot of bad luck - we do not have a second Edi, or Neymar".
The Paris side are already with their injured Brazilian star Neymar for the tie so any potential lay-off for Cavani could deal their hopes of beating United a huge blow.
There was better news on Marco Verratti, though, with Tuchel confident the Italian midfielder will be fine to play against United despite only completing 60 minutes last time out.
"There is a very small hope", Tuchel said.
"But, if two or three key players are not here, it's our duty to find solutions". "But we're ready for Manchester and I have faith in my players". For Manchester United, I do not know yet, I simply do not know.
"It's super hard. If we miss several players the challenge will be even bigger".
"If your key players are not there it's different".
While Tuchel needs Verratti against a United midfield featuring the in-form Paul Pogba, the 58 minutes he played may not be enough to get his rhythm back in time to face a revitalized United.
Neymar is ruled out with a broken metatarsal and it looks as though PSG will be without their first choice striker Edinson Cavani too, after he was subbed off at half-time during Saturday's game against Bordeaux.
Juventus spent €112 million on a 33-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo in July to take them one step further after reaching the final in 2015 and 2017, when Ronaldo scored twice in a 4-1 win for Madrid.
