There were at least 18 white students sitting together at a large table while the smaller group of Black students can be seen in the back of the class at a small table.
"They say the school says the children chose to sit that way, which is not true", said the disgruntled parent.
However, after the photo went viral and an investigation was launched, the schools seem to have rearranged the learners into a more integrated system.
"This was meant to be an exciting day for me, but it's not", she said.
After the break the children were moved to a different seating plan and were no longer separated by race.
The teacher who did this apparently did so because she wanted the children to sit with those who spoke the same language. Now they want to make this as if it's racism.
"On behalf of the department, I wish to condemn in its strongest terms any allegation of racism in our schools which contradict the constitution of our country", Lehari said. "If they are not happy‚ let them take their children there".
She claimed the white children did not have the same experience.
He said he did so because the explanation given for separating the pupils did not sit well with him.
"We hear complaints that black children are often threatened by white pupils not to touch them or else they tell their fathers who have guns to deal with them".
"We are not sure whether is fake or real, if it's real we are condemning it, we say not during this era, we can not really accept it". My suggestion? This school must be shut down, the parents of those learners in the corner must get a formal apology and the teacher must be fired!
Governing body chairperson Jozeph du Plessis released a statement after a chaotic day at the school, which saw a protest by members of the community, including some EFF members, and a visit by provincial government officials.
Some white parents on Thursday took their children away from the school after protesters gathered outside.
He said that the school would help staff in "aspects where it appears that integration is not taking place as it should".
In the other pictures, children of different races can be seen interacting.
