When her father Hal realized she wouldn't be home for the holidays, he decided he wasn't going to let her fly solo. To spend the two to fly today and tomorrow on their flights across the country around Christmas time.
"She had to work and her father just followed her around the country", Levy added, saying that the father said he was flying standby. "Sending festive wishes from England, UK (where I am working my second night shift tonight for the NHS)", she wrote. He simply chose to spend the entire holiday up in the clouds, with her.
Hal Vaughan regretted missing out spending time with his flight attendant daughter, Pierce Vaughan, as he was recovering from a broken neck after falling off a ladder in June.
Mike Levy was on a flight from Fort Myers to Detroit when he was sat beside Vaughan.
The post went viral on Facebook, amassing more than 20,000 shares and over 110,000 likes. She said that her dad got the Christmas gift, when he got to know that he will be traveling in first class RSW-DTW.
Levy, 31, who lives in Sylvania, Ohio, a suburb of Toledo, was sitting in first class on the way home from a family vacation in Florida when Hal Vaughan was assigned to the seat next to him, the only open one left on the plane.
Vaughan said her father made it onto all of her flights, even riding first class on one of them - from Florida to MI - which she called a "Christmas miracle".
"Look ma we made it Kimberly Hal Vaughan", Pierce wrote in reference to her mother.
Pierce also thanked Levy at the end of her post for 'helping us to understand how cool this actually is'.
"My dad is the real story here for tagging along". He was eventually able to thanks to the nice gate agents and to the Delta crew, all of whom proved very accommodating, she continued to say, thanking them.
"Dad's first trip using his benefits was a success!" she wrote on Facebook.
