The move will save the Bucks almost $20 million in salary next season, Wojnarowski added.
It was reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski (and ESPN's Brian Windhorst) that the Cavs traded George Hill to the Milwaukee Bucks for Matthew Dellavedova, John Henson and a future first and second-round draft pick. But, the reality is, it could be much of the same as the Cavs continue to eye the future - which now looks like Duke monster Zion Williamson at pick No.1 in next year's draft. Also, they'll have cap space to sign Khris Middleton when he likely hits free agency in 2019. Both Henson and Dellavedova, who won a title with the Cavs in 2016, have one year and about $10 million left on their contracts. Hill returned from injury on December 1 against the Raptors.
Dellavedova could find some minutes behind 20-year-old rookie point guard Collin Sexton, who should benefit from his veteran presence. "We wish Jason the best moving forward and appreciate the value he brought to our team as a great teammate and true professional". He is averaging 6.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.
They have also taken some calls on shooting guard Alec Burks, acquired last week in a trade with the Utah Jazz involving Kyle Korver.
Report: Milwaukee Bucks Trade Matthew Dellavedova to Cavaliers for George Hill
In 12 appearances this season, Dellavedova is averaging 1.7 points, 0.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.
Sexton, the No. 8 overall pick in the June draft, has already heard stories about Dellavedova.
"This trade allows us to continue to work to improve our team and gives us a young, developing player in Sam whose versatility and athleticism at the forward position will allow him to earn an opportunity to contribute", Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld said.
The undersized point guard averaged 5.7 points and 3.4 assists per game during his three seasons in Cleveland, including an epic 2015 Finals performance that saw him score 20 points in Game 3 while leading the Cavaliers to victory.
