The 2018 Forbes India Celebrity 100 List rankings are based on estimates of entertainment-related earnings of celebrities.
Thanks to his blockbuster films, many brand endorsements and the television projects, the 52-year-old actor Salman Khan raked in Rs 253.25 Cr between 1st October 2017, and 30th September, 2018, becoming the country's highest paid celeb for the third consecutive year. Deepika was a major success this year with Padmaavat breaking major box office records.
Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli jumped one spot to the second rank, with total earnings of Rs 228.09 crore, a sharp increase of 116.53 percent from the previous year.
The list has been dominated by the Bollywood celebrities and sports persons, most of the prominent names featuring in it.
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who stood second a year ago, bagged the 13th position.
Rajinikanth, who has earned Rs 50 crore has been placed in the 14th position.
A total of 15 celebrities from the south Indian film industry made it to the list, with Kollywood contributing eight actors. While Bumrah is 60th on the list of top-earning celebrities with earnings of Rs 16.42, Pandey stood 77th with Rs 13.08 crores in his pocket.
The cumulative earnings figure for 2018 amounted to Rs 3,140.25 crore, which is 17 per cent higher than last year's Rs 2,683 crore, the Forbes report said.
