"They'll even save the world... for the right price". They also have to create original works like Devilman Crybaby, a live-action Death Note movie, and a live-action series based on the best anime there is: Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Get ready, space cowboys.
The live-action first episode will be written by Christopher Yost, who recently penned Thor: Ragnarok. The streaming giant announced yesterday with the help of a short tease that the series was heading to the service with a 10-episode run, meaning fans will have plenty of material to critique and compare alongside the classic original series. Together, the crew ventures across the solar system in the fishing trawler-turned-spaceship Bebop in search of the universe's most risky criminals.
Shinichiro Watanabe - director of the original anime - will serve as a consultant on the new series, and executive producers include Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, Yasuo Miyakawa, Masayuki Ozaki, Shin Sasaki, Tetsu Fujimura, and Matthew Weinberg.
The original series ran for 26 episodes and inspired two manga series and an anime film released in the United States in 2003. There is no official release date or trailer, but speculative fans believe that the show will get a ten episode run. Maybe with the acquisition of the show, the anime will also be available on Netflix soon, which would introduce the series to a whole new bevy of viewers.
However, a subsequent tweet offers some additional information about this Cowboy Bebop adaptation.
