Musk was discussing the difficulty of creating a successful auto company and how Tesla, Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler (now Fiat Chrysler) struggled during the 2008 recession. Now he says he wouldn't accept an investment from the country's sovereign wealth fund because of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
Musk said he didn't know whether many people would want to buy the truck. That's a pretty significant change and one that the government will probably be looking into.
Musk had met with officials from the Saudi fund on July 31.

According to the Mask, often he had to work on the project Tesla for 120 hours a week. "Although the majority of shareholders I spoke to said they would remain with Tesla if we went private, the sentiment, in a nutshell, was 'please don't do this'".
