Chief Justice John Roberts transferred the complaints to a court in Denver so they could be handled by a court that hasn't worked with Kavanaugh. "I'm proud that she's in the Republican conference".
CNN legal analyst Joan Biskupic said Brett Kavanaugh would be "changing the law of the land" for the next 20 years as the newest Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. Only six of the 51 Republicans in the Senate are women.
Republicans said Democrats harnessed the accusation in a partisan attempt to sink the nomination.
"It's a great frustration", he said. We can see it in the groups who have hounded Republicans ranging from Ted Cruz to Krisjen Nielsen to Sarah Huckabee Sanders to Mitch McConnell in public spaces.
The allegations - that Kavanaugh drunkenly assaulted Ford in high school - led to an emotional day of Senate testimony by Kavanaugh and Ford, two weeks of controversy, and a reopened FBI investigation that many Democrats found too limited to be legitimate.
The FBI did not interview either Ford or Kavanaugh about the allegations. Democrats say the proliferation of such plans will raise premiums for older and less healthy people by letting healthier consumers out of coverage that complies with the ACA.
However, "Nobody's going to beat her", McConnell said.
"When you're dealing with an ideological party that is driven by the lust for power, that is funded by corporate interests who want a government that does its bidding, you can be civil but you can't overcome what they intend to do unless you win elections", she told Amanpour.
Trump also heaped praise on Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, an immigration hard-liner who has often been criticized for statements about whites and minority groups. "They're already planning to impeach Kavanaugh and Trump".
Both sides' consultants say initial polling shows newfound enthusiasm among conservatives, who until the court fight were far less excited about voting than their liberal, anti-Trump counterparts.
And while Democrats lost the vote, they hope they've gained a message that will bolster their chances of winning Senate control in next month's elections. He says it would backfire and help Trump in 2020 the way President Bill Clinton's impeachment cost Republicans two decades ago.
"And I feel they are choosing the politics over helping others".
McConnell added that "this business of presidential harassment may or may not quite be the victor they think it is". Kavanaugh's confirmation gave the Republican president a political victory ahead of crucial November 6 congressional elections.
