Lorde has joined the thousands of friends and fans paying tribute to rapper Mac Miller, who was found dead at his Los Angeles home yesterday after an apparent drug overdose at the age of 26.
Grande also shut off comments on her Instagram post, after reportedly receiving a deluge of comments blaming her for Miller's death. Following the initial report of Miller's passing, people started flooding the "No Tears Left To Cry" singer's Instagram posts with comments like, "THIS IS YOUR FAULT", "You lowkey evil", and "It's insane because you really did kill him", according to screenshots shared by Pop Crave.
The picture, which appears to have been taken by Grande and did not include a caption, shows Miller looking up into the camera while sitting on a patch of grass.
Toxicology tests have been requested, but Mac's official cause of death can not be confirmed until they come back. The messages got so harsh that she had to disable the comments altogether.
Unfortunately, many news sources used his recent break up with vocalist Ariana Grande as a talking point in the artist's death.
Miller and Grande began dating in August 2016, shortly after which she was featured on his track "My Favorite Part".
In May, shortly after their breakup, Miller crashed his auto and was charged with driving under the influence.
The song that Sir Elton dedicated to Mac was his classic "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me", a fitting one for a tribute to the recently deceased rapper. Way too soon. Rest In Peace Mac'.
Reacting to Grande's lightening-fast engagement to Pete Davidson at the beginning of the summer, Miller said he only had "positive energy". They split up in the spring of this year, but the singer said she remained on good terms with her ex.
The pair remained loved up until May this year when they suddenly parted ways.
