In a Friday morning SEC filing, Tesla revealed that Chief Accounting Officer Dave Morton is resigning less than a month after taking the job, citing the company's fast pace and "the level of public attention" on the company.
Morton joined the electric vehicle company the day before Musk tweeted that he was considering taking the company private, causing stocks to soar and prompting and a Securities and Exchange Commission investigation from over whether he had funding secured, as he had stated.

Late Friday evening, Tesla announced an executive reshuffling, after a month or more of chaos within the company.
Mr. Musk's antics came on a tough day in the stock market for his company. He added that he still believed in Tesla, that "I have no disagreements with Tesla's leadership or its financial reporting".
The auto company has struggled to scale up production of its Model 3 sedan, which has been hit by a number of delays, intensifying the pressure on Musk. He took leave from the company in 2015 but rejoined to work on the Semi truck revealed in November of past year.
It's not clear whether the reshuffling of executives goes quite that far, but it does address a vacuum that had been developing at the top of the company as several top executives have recently left.
Tesla's newly hired chief accounting officer abruptly resigned on Tuesday, the company has disclosed in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. An episode of Joe Rogan's popular podcast released today seemed to show Musk smoking marijuana-something that's legal under California law but remains illegal under the federal Controlled Substances Act.
Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Tesla shares, down just 1 per cent after Musk's appearance on the Rogan podcast overnight, fell another 7 per cent after Morton's resignation to US$262.54.
Earlier this week, Musk doubled down on an incendiary allegation against a British cave explorer who helped save 12 boys trapped in a flooded cavern in Thailand this summer. The controversial electric-car company was also hit with the departure of two key executives.
Bloomberg News also reported that Tesla's chief people officer, Gaby Toledano, is not returning to the company after taking a leave.
