A manager for the rapper confirmed on Wednesday that he was on the Emirates flight that landed at New York's Kennedy Airport. "So I just landed from Dubai and now there is like tons of ambulances and fire trucks and police all over the place", he tweeted.
Emirates airline says they included seven crew members and three passengers.
Health officials may follow up with passengers who were released, the CDC said.
His pictures showed people having their temperatures taken with a laser device as they disembarked, and a police officer wearing a mask.
Ten of which had to go to the hospital, while the other ones chose not to seek medical attention.
Vanilla Ice shared his experience in a series of tweets, writing, "So I just landed in NY coming back from Dubai and now I'm stuck on the runway with like 1000 police, ambulances, fire trucks, this is insane". The cause of the illness is still under investigation, however apparently the flight had stopped in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, which is now experiencing a flu outbreak, and that's being considered a possibility. The rep added, "symptoms still pointing to the flu".
