According to the Daily Mail, police reports show that the 18-year-old Heitmann, who was known in the gaming community as "OG McSkillet", was speeding in his McLaren on Thursday afternoon, driving in the wrong direction on I-805 HOV, where he crashed into the Hyundai SUV driven by marriage and family therapist Aileen Pizarro.
Trevor "McSkillet" Heitmann posted video of his 2014 McLaren sports vehicle in December.
Heitmann has close to 900,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel and first gained popularity as a player of Counter Strike: Global Offensive, a first-person video game. In December 2017, he uploaded a video about his auto, a black McLaren 650S which he said "beats just about every other super vehicle in a drag race". Pizarro and her daughter were going to Orange County to get contact lenses for Aryana when their lives suddenly ended.
"People were running around ... and someone was on the ground", motorist Mariwan Hama told The Los Angeles Times.
The woman who was killed was Aileen Pizarro, Fox 5 reported Friday. "They were trying to help him, he was raising his hand, and they were just surrounding him". The girl's brother described her as a bright girl who was to start seventh grade within days. Pizarro's family has opened a GoFundMe page for funeral costs and other expenses.
Before that, his father called police to report his son had sped off in the McLaren after hitting a family auto in the process, according to the station. The San Diego Union-Tribune reported that online speculation suggests the e-sport industry afforded Heitmann his lavish lifestyle-which included a 2015 British McLaren 650S sports auto that cost at him least $250,000.
